About Mary Kassel

Mary Kassel (they/them) is a writer and filmmaker based out of Los Angeles. They recently graduated from Emerson College in Boston, MA. Here they participated in many film shoots and were the Managing Editor of the literary magazine EM Mag. They were also a frequent contributor to the editorial section of the magazine.

Their passions include winemaking, theatre, film, and independent bookstores. This past summer they wrapped production on their independent short film, now in post-production.

In writing about film and television for the magazine as well as being an accomplished scriptwriter themself, Kassel is an authority on screenplay execution and effectiveness. It is their ambition to one day write a book, or at least a small collection of essays.
