But, even with a (likely invalid) psychiatrist’s license, it looks like she’s going to have a hard time not stepping on her own feet. Reformed or no, Harley has always been her own worst enemy, and this new series highlights this tragicomedy in spades. She’s just a person who can’t get out of her own way, it seems.

Written and drawn by the Japanese wunderkind Peach Momoko (with an English translation by Zack Davisson), Demon Days reimagines the characters of the Marvel Universe as classic archetypes found in the folktales of the traditional Shinto myths of her homeland, brought to life in graceful watercolors that echo both the modern manga technique as well as the ukiyo-e (“floating world”) woodblock printing style many picture books of these folktales are known for. And it’s certainly a successful experiment.

It's for this reason that Fully Charged proved controversial since its first trailer premiered. By the time that series ended, it was moderately successful with its age group and developed a small following of its own. Boom Studios is continuing the story of Fully Charged with a new comic book series. While Mega Man: Fully Charged #1 has its fair share of interesting ideas, it fails to leave a lasting impression.

Together, they go off in search of a new breed of machines that could threaten nearby innocents: the Clawstrider.
